NEU! Musik (Album Package)

This is album package design for the Garman electronic band NEU! It is a brief from the sound design workshop and competition held by British Council.

Neu's music is simple, natural, creating evocative soundscapes that are stimulating rather than tranquilizing. Sugarcoated melodies are balanced upon driving almost hypnotic beats.

The continuity of absolute Neu! music similar as an endless line stretching in our mind. Their music is full of hidden message by metaphysical approach. To visually present this metaphor, it simply to use some “graphic icon” composed and extracted from the hand sketches which recorded the experience when I listen to their music. It is the immediacy record from the energy of music rhythm. It’s translating the abstract idea through unconscious visual driven by music.
